Who We Are
Ecco Italy Srl ("Ecco", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through tryecco.com and our AI Phone Receptionist service. We are incorporated in Florence, Italy and fully subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Questions? Contact us at privacy@tryecco.com.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal data when you interact with us — including your name, email, job title, company name, and any details submitted through contact forms or during onboarding. We also collect technical data automatically: IP addresses, browser and device information, and behavioral data about how you navigate our site, via cookies and analytics tools. Where we receive data from third-party prospecting or enrichment tools (e.g. Clay), we ensure appropriate legal bases are in place.
2. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data only on a valid GDPR legal basis (Art. 6):
Contractual necessity — to deliver and manage our service
Legitimate interests — to operate our platform, conduct B2B outreach, and improve our product, where not overridden by your rights
Consent — for marketing communications and non-essential cookies
Legal obligation — for tax, accounting, and regulatory compliance
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to deliver and improve our service, manage your account, provide customer support, send relevant product updates (where permitted), prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. We never sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making with significant legal effects.
4. Sharing Your Information
We share data only where necessary, with: hosting and infrastructure providers, CRM and email platforms, PMS integration partners you authorize, and professional or legal advisors — all under appropriate data processing agreements. We do not transfer data outside the EEA unless Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards are in place.
5. Your Rights Under the GDPR
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16)
Erasure of data no longer necessary (Art. 17)
Restrict processing in certain circumstances (Art. 18)
Data portability in a machine-readable format (Art. 20)
Object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing (Art. 21)
Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tryecco.com. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary: for active clients, throughout the contract and a reasonable period after; for leads and prospects, no longer than 24 months from last meaningful contact; for financial and legal records, as required by Italian and EU law (typically 10 years).
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies (always active), analytics cookies (consent required), and marketing cookies (consent required). You can manage preferences via our cookie banner or browser settings at any time.
8. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organizational safeguards including TLS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is fully immune to risk, but we are committed to continuous improvement.
9. Third-Party Tools and Links
Our site and platform use third-party tools (analytics, email, CRM) that may collect data under their own terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites linked from our platform. We recommend reviewing their policies before sharing information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. We will update the effective date and notify you by email or in-platform notice where appropriate.
